Snagged from Miles...

Found this in his blog...

Wisdom from that little girl in "E.T."

"the only fundamental rule for me is just to be yourself. let your freak-flag fly, and if someone doesn't get you, move on... i think you have to get to the point where you realize that you're happy on your own and anyone else will be a bonus to your life, not the cause or demise of your happiness."

my house

Performance on Thursday

I'm actually grounded in this performance...I haven't been in a dance piece since...Trinity Rep? WOW! I've been flying for so long!

Today's rehearsal was awesome. Bianca, Gwyn, Drea and I rehearsed right here at the house, on the dance floor in the front yard. Mostly modern physical movement, scrapping my bare feet across the floor. Felt great to swing my legs and arms again without the help of an appartus. Just my own brute strength.

Before we began, Russ was rehearsing the German wheel. A great thing to watch to get all inspired.

After rehearsal, Gwyn and Billy did some rigging at an offsite, Bianca and I went for a vegan lunch. Yum. She told me fun stories about her husband's band. When we got back, Ana set up her cello and numberous pedals and let me rock out on her equipment. The harmonizer was my favorite. Russ did all the clicking action. Ana made me feel good when she said, "You've still got the fingers AND you're in tune!" My eyes were wide and I was grinning the whole time.

Somehow I ended up sleeping for a few hours. Went to the storage space and got all my costume stuff for tomorrow.

I was happy to hear that Gwyn and I are in the same boat: sore, tired and psyched that we're revisiting an old love.
